CONSIDERING A GIFT VIA THE RVYC FUND

Have you ever considered a financial gift to the Club to help advance the RVYC mission, or to include the Club in your estate as part of planned giving? Are you curious whether the Club can facilitate this while offering a tax advantage?

The Club some time ago established the RVYC Fund in partnership with the Victoria Foundation to support a range of sailing, racing and recreational boating activities while providing you with the benefit of a charitable tax receipt issued by the Victoria Foundation.

Donations to the RVYC Fund can be directed in the following ways:

· By making a non-specific contribution to the RVYC fund to build up capital in an endowment fund, with annual earnings from the Fund then available to provide support for any club project or activity that meets the funding criteria of, and has been approved by, Sail Canada or the BC Amateur Sport Fund; or

· By contributing to a specific club project or activity that meets the funding criteria of and has been approved by Sail Canada or the BC Amateur Sport Fund, using the RVYC Fund to pass donations through to the specific project or activity.

· By including the Club in your estate as part of planned giving by making the RVYC Fund a beneficiary.

Donations can be made by cheque to the Victoria Foundation with “RVYC Fund - Capital” in the memo line, by credit card (phone 250-381-5532 and specify RVYC Fund - Capital) or in the form of publicly traded securities (see here).

All donations receive a charitable tax receipt from the Victoria Foundation.

The RVYC Fund has received a number of generous gifts since inception, and the Club would look forward to a conversation with you to explore your thinking about how you can help make a difference.
