1. As a matter of general policy, the Royal Victoria Yacht Club wishes to welcome as visitors, members of other yacht clubs whose aims and objectives are similar to those of this Club. Conversely it is hoped that RVYC members may be made welcome as visitors in similar clubs.
2. To give effect to this policy and to keep the number of visitors within reasonable limits, reciprocal privileges will, upon approval from the Executive Committee, be extended to other clubs that:
a) have similar aims and objectives to the Royal Victoria Yacht Club
b) have appropriate berthing and clubhouse facilities
c) offer reasonable parity in reciprocal privileges. Where the discrepancy is significant, the RVYC may offer a category of Basic Reciprocal Privileges instead of Full Reciprocal Privileges.
3. Members of clubs to whom Full Reciprocal Privileges have been extended will be offered the following:
a) use of the foreshore and clubhouse facilities to a total of 14 days per year, and
b) berthing in Cadboro Bay for two days free of charge. Additional moorage time is available at the discretion of the General Manager and is charged at posted rates.
4. Members of clubs to whom Basic Reciprocal Privileges have been extended will be offered the following:
a) use of the foreshore and clubhouse facilities to a total of 14 days per year.
b) berthing in Cadboro Bay for one day free of charge. Additional moorage time is available at the discretion of the General Manager and is charged at posted rates.
c) a facility usage charge of $5.00 per boat per day.
5. Visitors from clubs meeting the criteria set out in paragraph 2 but who are not on the list of clubs having reciprocal privileges may, at the discretion of the General Manager or a Flag Officer, be allowed to berth at Cadboro Bay for not more than two days at the posted rate.
6. Exceptions to these rules may be made by the Executive Committee as and when deemed necessary.
